Well at the moment, my car is doing an average of around 44mpg (if i drive on the motorway) and 28-33 mpg in town and it only has 11k on the mileage. so I think it is doing really well and could get better once I get a higher mileage...

I would be interested to learn your actual mpg so I can compare it to my C. 220 cdi which had averaged 41mpg over its 30k life. I may be looking at your choice of change also!

There is sod all between my old E220cdi and E320cdi. I imagine its the same in the C class.

The engine is very very quiet, wonderful lump of joy. And they go like the wind, brilliant cars.

Well St4, then it is the case for the c class as I used to drive the C220 cdi and now the C350 cdi, the difference is just mind blowing to be honest. The car feels like a 'quiet ship' cruising gently at 30mph as you can hear a gentle and subtle sound but soon as your foot is a bit heavy then comes the beast! I have never experienced such a delight before, and I am so thrilled about having this vehicle, it really makes me happy. MB are the best in that field you have to admit...

You've so gone and bought the right car...

The engines are very good, those V6s are uncannily quiet and frugal for the performance on offer.

C350 CDI
Hi Guys,

I thought I would post here rather than start a new thread...

Had a long test drive of a 350 cdi today and wow, I have never driven anything like it. The car is in a different league to my Golf GTI (2010).

So, it looks like I will be buying a 2010 C350 CDI in Grey (once they can find one) with COMMAND and also full leather + 18's.

Anything I need to look out for? I look to be paying in the region of 26k.

Ive seen some posts on boot spoilers - which I feel should be standard on the 350! and also re-trofitting LEDs any info on this? I realise that these were added on 2011 (LEDs anyway).

Sat in the revised interior of the 350, impressive but I cant justify +10k for that and the stop start tech!

Love to hear from you

Hi David,

I am glad you are impressed with this engine in its C Class. I have been loving it since day one and you should be getting some good deals at this moment. i would ask the car dealer that they give you 12 months tax road. I personally am not a fan of the LED lights and I prefer the fog lights as they look better, but that is a personal taste and preference.
Have you driven the car in all 3 different modes? ie Sport / Comfort and Manual? As all three makes you feel you are driving a different car, different torque management is applied of each of them and I particularly love the Sport and Manual mode (when i am on my own) or if someone is in the car then the comfort mode makes the car drive so smooth...

I've had my 2010 C350 CDI sport estate for a week now and I'm really enjoying it.

I've driven some quick cars myself, been in some friends quick cars (997, sl500 etc) and also owned a few quick bikes (ducatis, z1000's etc).

But, I don't think I've been in a car that gives quite the same sense of low rev shove than this one does. :):):)

Mercedes-Benz C320CDI Sport Estate with Brabus engine upgrade
Hi Redcar, you must have taken delivery of your new C320CDI by now & hope you are pleased with it.
I bought my first M-B in Oct 2009, a C320CDI Sport Estate with Brabus D6-III, Iridium silver with black leather. It was 20 months old when I got it from M-B at Bath & it's pretty well fully loaded with COMAND, Linguatronic, Parktronic, full electric/ memory front seats, etc. Mine has the 17" AMG wheels.
I've had a few issues with this car starting with two glow plugs that needed replacing on separate occasions. The wheel alignment was out too, from when I bought it I believe, very costly! The last item to be replaced was a front fuse box & relays...I'd had warnings come up a few times, "ESP inop" followed by "Run flat inop" & finally one day the car refused to start. M-B Assistance were very helpful, as was the dealership I've been using, Tony Purslow of Basingstoke.
That said, it's still a joy to drive & goes really quickly & is quite economical with 40mpg on good, long runs. I had a Jaguar XJR before & the very best I got from that was 25mpg, so 40mpg is great in my book! I just can't get on with the Linguatronic system; to be honest I haven't really persevered. Not a gadget I would have chosen.
I'll look forward to reading your next posts on the forum to see how your liking the car.
All the best,
Chris
