In an hours time my missus Mel will be taking her first driving practical test.
So please put your hands on the monitor and transmit feelings of calmness and confidence to the BSM Astra that will be setting off from Desborough car park in High Wycombe at 2.20 pm.
God speed.

I hated my driving test, anyone here have any disastrous happenings during a test?

I failed my first test but flew through the second thankfully. Nothing particularly memorable happened on either.
On the other hand I had a friend who reversed into a wall on hers, and another who mid-test pulled the car over and threw up by the side of the road.

Sorry I took a while to get back to you. The server at work has been "upgraded" so it was about as much use as a chocolate teapot for a while.

Sadly Mel failed..... by one minor.

She was not amused.

Still, she'll do it next time.

One amusing thing happened though-

The new test requires that you can identify various items under the bonnet, the examiner made it quite clear that he thought that my other half would only know the stuff from the book. But she is going out with an utter petrol head!
So he was a little embarrassed when she started the car and told him that it sounds as though a tappet was not filling with oil!

She makes me so proud

I suppose we all fail at something at sometime or another...not the end of the world is it? Will be when she passes tho (joke)

interesting fact, more percentage of people fail the second test. the highest percentage of passes per test is the 3rd test. strange but true. Nerves apparently.

I passed the car test 1st time, PSv 3rd time, HGV 2 2nd time and HGV class 1 first time.

so it doesnt bear true with me then.
