Hi guys, I'm apologising up front if this has been posted before as I could not find a relavent answer by using the search engine.

I have a 1996 N registration C180 automatic (a W202?) & have just covered 75,000 miles.

I am wondering does it have a cam belt or is it chain driven and when would either need replacing if at all?

Any advice would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Rest easy for the next 75k miles as you have a duplex chain

So as long as I do the basics with oil filter, air filter, spark plugs etc I'm worry free for a while?

My 96 C180 is coming up to 210,000 on the original chain (and clutch).

And this can be done with the minimum of fuss by feeding the new chain through on the end of the old one

The MB way is it tie the chain so that it cant drop down and grind off a link, with a joiner you couple up the new chain and feed it through then use the joiner to complete it.

I have got a paper,,see what I can find
