This is my first post as a new member having just bought a year 2000 E240Elegance Estate. I had a 1991 W124 in which I put a Blaupunkt DAB52 CD/DAB unit which I want to transfer to my E240 which has a Merc CD AM FM unit (sorry, don't know the name of it). I don't have any screens/other fancy controls in the centre console so I assume I don't have the funky Command option. I have found a CAMBus wiring adapter kit on Bluespot.co.uk http://www.bluespot.co.uk/install/show_model.asp?id=158 but their tech support wasn't conclusive/any help at all.
My question is, does the concensus here think that this is likely to be the correct method for ensuring that the steering wheel controls and dashboard display work with the Blaupunkt I want to install?

Hi Mike, just read the install instructions and i would have said it will do what you want, and it is the only way to go if you want to use the wheel controls.

As long as your radio is compatable with the KIT do not see any problems.

Malcom,

Thanks for your comment, it's reassured me I'm thinking along the right lines. According to the compatability list my head unit is OK so I'll give it a bash - when it's not quite so cold....

Reading the info it looks like it should work. Blaupunkt UK tech support is pretty good if you need more help
