Camshaft drive

I have just bought a clk230k and i am wondering how the camshafts are driven and how often the drive belt or chain ( not sure which) needs changing. the vehicle is a 2000 car with 50k on the clock. thanks for any help

Hi & Welcome,
Your CLK will have a Duplex chain which will last for a long long time (150K - 200K miles). They generally get noisy before they need replacing.
