Hi
Can anybody please tell me what the device in the pictures is? It's mounted on a W211 e220 near the rear SAM. It does not have a mercedes part number on it... just a written RPA (made in belgium (from where the car was bought)).

Thanks

Hi,
Personally think there are too many wires to be a tracker, has the car got a towbar? or show any evidence of having a tow bar fitted at some point? As i believe on a 211 a box of tricks is needed for the tow bar electrics.

This is not a tracker. It is also not a mercedes part. My money would also be on an aftermarket towbar. They could have neatened up the wiring a bit........

It is a towing relay for C'van/trailor rear, brake, stop, reverse lights it also might just contain the battery charge circuit and yes I would also guess it is an after market unit. If you have twin sockets you should find another relay tucked away somewhere, if a single 13 pin socket then this will be the only one (I think?)
