I have a 2004 E270 CDI (W211) with the standard radio/cd system and would like to add the CD Multichanger if it is possible and not too expensive, can someone tell me if it is plausible?

Many thanks

Yes, can be done. Cost between £550-£700+ at a dealers including labour.

Apparently you can get them on ebay also. Most likely cheaper but I decided to do mine at the dealer's as I did not want to invalidate my warranty.

Mercedes dealers in Germany often sell these new on eBay. Try www.ebay.de.

You wont invalidate the warranty if you stick to genuine MB parts. You should be able to get the whole job done for less than £500 including all the parts!
