Hi, I need to change the seat sensor in the w210 cloth seat , its a classic with lift and tilt electrics. I need to remove the seat apparently but need advice how to go about this procedure as I´m frightened where to start. Can someone give me a diagram or explain how to go about this task please. My srs light is lit and Mercedes said it was the seat sensor , so I´ve bought it from Nick mercedes as getting the job done in Mercedes is 400quid and for 2002 car its not happening.

thks Tony

I have sent them both, one for removing the seat, and the other for taking off the cover.

Its a shame that no one gives this info on the your other forum, but I am nice and kind :D:D:D;)

Just a tip, olly uses tie cables to re attach the cover then using the round twist rods, gives a better finish he says!

Thanks again for the instructions on how to remove the seat cushion ,the first thing I have to do is remove the seat adjustment mechanism, but there are no detailed instructions how to do this and I am worried about how many screws and were to remove them from.
It says AR91.10-P1450F beside the 1.REMOVE SEAT ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM .

Incidentally my sensor has only arrived a few days ago after a long wait on emails from Euromerc, maybe they were on holiday but that was the delay in getting the part.I have the sensor now so I´m happy .

Hi,
On the subject of seats i,m going to have to remove my drivers seat as the right hand side Orthopedic bladder has become dislodged and has slipped around cushion, whilst i was doing this i was gonna replace the lower seat cushioning as well (as i am rather on the large size), is this a straight forward job or is it worth taking it to a trimmer, any thoughts?

Well, started dismantling the seat , the base doesn´t seem to want to come apart from the seat adjuster mechanism despite removing the 2 torx bolts at the rear and the 2 smaller torx at the front .Its like there´s another thing stopping them separate .

Also looking at the sensor I have from Nick, it looks bigger than than the seat cushion area ,like a matt of small sensors .Can anyone confirm that there is only one sensor and it does go in the cushion not the seat back.

thks Tony

I have got to the sensor to discover its not the same as the one I ordered from Nick, Mine has a white plastic box attached with 3 wires, blue red and brown and the new sensor doesnt with only 2 wires so obviously the connector wont just plug in either . Have I GOT THE WRONG SENSOR from Nick , I think I have and need clarification before putting it in the seat .Even if it could work the cable connector blocks pins will be incorrect .

CONFUSED !
