Can the new ipods be played with Mercedes?

Can the new ipod classic and the ipod touch be played with Mercedes? I hear Apple changed the authentication chips on the newer ipods so I am concerned if the new Mercedes will be able to recognize the new ipods on the market.

i thought they are still compatible but do not charge at apple changed the charging voltage from 12v to 5v, mercedes are apparantly working on a fix for the problem

ive connected mine via the aux connection in glove box. how are you proposing to connect yours lisam?
