I was wondering what the best way to approach chipping my C250TD. My missus complains about the slow acceleration from a standing start compared to her A class 170 (sic) and I am considering having the C250 chipped. What's the likely end result and which company is the best to use? Whats' the rough cost and are they easy to install? Superchips has got a few mentions on here, what's the rest of you think?:p

hi, i feel you can't really compare an A class petrol to a C class diesel. i have known friends to chip their cars but ive been told it doesn't make a HUGE difference. another solution would be to buy your missus a slower car, then your C class would seem much faster!

Hello

The A170cdi is small, lighhtweight and (manual?) compared to the C250TD that is Bulky, heavy and (auto?)

Chipping a turbo derv always get a fair few more horse's but also torque, so should be worth looking at. Not sure how much extra you will get. I chipped a Freelander TD4 years ago and got 35bhp and 70lbs torque more.

It felt 'better' to drive with no lag at junctions, certainly worth doing even the mpg imporoved !!!

Little feedback on the chipping of a C250TD - does anyone care?

Mebobster, the A class is a diesel not petrol and is a seriously unreliable peice of s**t! I've had a look thru some of the posts and the verdict on chipping a 250TD isn't that promising. Has anyone else had it done What results did you get?

chips!

Hmmmmmmm...Nigella-Sorry,I digress.

CCC Technology-If it can be done they will do it.Simon Coe is a nice bloke and knows what he's doing. My Sprinter 310 will now just about keep up with the later CDi's,but be warned that the drivetrain on my Sprinter is none too happy about the extra torque.IMHO,well worth the extra bucks though.

sorry growla, it wasn't clear to me that the A class was also diesel, but i stand by post, cant compare A class to E class! you are right, looks like not a lot of people care about chipping a C250TD! good luck, let me know if you get yours done and what the results are like.

I'm thinking of doing the Simon Coe tuning as well. My 250td-t is slow to get going and then once rolling takes off. Not ideal when trying to take off on a roundabout at rush hour!

If you change the fuel filters more often this makes a big difference. Hope this helps
