Can you identify this part? - What is this

I have an electronic part from my 1982 240-D, which I cannot identify well enough to go looking for a replacement one.  Can anyone tell me what this thing is??

Hi

It looks like the glow plug relay to me. Does it have two plugs on the underside and a thin strip of metal held down with two large philips screws?

If so. Then I would assume it is the glow plug relay.
If you take the part number to a dealer they should be able to let you know.
