Cannot unlock trunk on 2000 S430

A few days ago my battery went dead and when we tried the key in the trunk lock, it wouldn't unlock. The roadside mechanic managed to charge the battery, but my trunk is now permanently locked....Help

Did you manage to turn the key in the boot, as this can turn off the remote locking when in one direction

The key does turn in the 3 different positions, but none of them seem to disengage the lock manually or electronically

In one of the positions it disables the remote locking, I am very sure of this
