When I collect my 1995 S5oo next weekend I am going to have to park her in the open ... to stop the bonnet emblem disappearing and bird *rap I would like to cover her up when she's not in use.

Can antone recommend a suitable outdoor cover for her ?

Covers cause problems/scratches on the paintwork when it's windy.
A good regular high quality polish (Autoglym) is a better option, unless the bird poo is really excessive !!

I would do as Chas suggests. A cover will grind in any dirt or grit that in on the paintwork. It will also alert the local deliquents that you care about your car - something they'll see as an invitation.
As far as the badge is concerned, yes they do go awol but not as often as you may fear. Personally I've not lost one in 9 years of MB ownership. The old man's run them for 27 years now and he's lost 3, and they're cheap enough from the dealer. So, relax and enjoy it.

These are one of the best, expensive though, but do not scratch the paint,
