Car don't shif gears stay in one gear

My Mercedes E240 automatic W210 does not want to shif gears
If I put it in drive it can't go back to reverse or park I have to switch off the car to put it in park I'm. In need of serious elp I have spend R6000 in 4 days no one can assist me

Start by checking the ATF level for low fluid. Needs to be checked when the gearbox fluid is hot. There should be a dipstick at the rear of the engine over the transmission. Don't confuse it with an engine dipstick. I can't remember if the W210 E class has both its so long since I owned mine.
If the level is OK , you need a Mercedes specialist with Star diagnostics to read the fault codes to see what is wrong.

I don't think that a W210 has a dipstick for the gearbox, search the forum for a diagram of how to make one using net curtain wire.
Using a decent code reader is recommended as everything else is guesswork. W210 connector under the bonnet for the gearbox (I think - hard to remember).
If oil levels are okay then is it possibly an issue with the electroplate and valve solenoids. It could be contamination with metallic residue. Electroplate accessed after draining gearbox and removing sump.
It could also be the selector - many are damaged after spilling liquids onto the gear lever area in the cabin.
There were also issues with oil contamination of the wiring harness from the gearbox - an updated harness plug was available.
