Car goes into neutral and then won't start

Hello - My car started going into neutral and then not restarting recently. The MB dealer updated the software and completed the a service but the problem persists and usually is after the car is switched off either momentarily with stop-start or after parking for a few minutes after a drive of 15 minutes or more. I am not convinced the dealer knows what they are doing - any thoughts
