Rented, got my C207 back now, it was a Vauxhall Corsa.

They were, like all old cars… safety systems and the like make cars hideously bloated these days

The Mini was a tiny little thing once and look at it now.

The Corsa does not look in any way "ghastly" to my eyes. It is a perfectly respectable car with nothing bad about it. In fact there is no such thing as a bad car nowadays.
I think cars at the cheap end of the spectrum are much better than they used to be, while cars in the middle are maybe not quite as good in some respects as they used to be.
