Car Phone for 1999 S500

Can anyone tell me which Nokia phone was used in the factory fitted system

of an S class 500 in November 1999 because it worked via the steering

wheel no one of the specialists & experts from the dealers has not a clue

about it? If you can modify the cradle to take another phone?

Mine came with a Nokia 6210 with cradle in the central arm rest. (2002 Model, S320cdi)

Need the first 6 VIN numbers to work this out,and what do you have in the car right now.

I'd bet it was a Nokia 3110. If so, you could modify the cradle, but the big problem will be the connecting cable. Mine has one of these fitted (E320 Cdi, 1999), you could buy one from ebay and put a sim card in it, it works very well.
Send your VIN to Malcolm to find out for sure.

2000 model came with the 6210, but surprise, surprise the 6310i fits and works perfectly ( in mine ).

The dealer should be able to tell you just from the VIN.

It was shown as a 6190 on my data base, thats the same as the 6150 that will be the same as 6210.

Hi Malcom,
The Vin No is : WDB2201752A023703.
Also the radio/CD/tape/player has reverted back to factory settings in German
I have tried to reset it but the language part will not highlight
I would be very grateful of any help.

The phone is one of those Nokia cark91's, and I would like to fit a "proper" phone kit. Can you tell me what my car was factory fitted with? Many thanks.

It came with a 3110 If the holder is still there,I have 2 as new 3110 phones.

Re the display, if you have the Command your dealer can slip in a software upgrade,normally free while you wait.

Your car also used the 3110 if it has not been installed by the factory the cost will be out of all perportion as the boot has to be stripped out along with the seats and inside fittings plus the cost of the parts. after 09 00 the phone changed to the 6210

Hi Malcom,Thanks for your help,I was able to get myself the Nokia 3110 which fits perfectly, I have not been able to check if it works.
This is due to the other problems ie.radio and CD player work but settings are in German and Sat/Nav still won`t work.Local Dealer says I need a new Command System at £2700 and they are not sure if that will fix the problem.
I feel they just replace items to try and resolve the problem, and charge the client for this service.
Can anyone give me advice on solving the problem.

I thought that they would have put or tried the "Flash" update CD in it only takes 1 min.

There are service centers around,I will have a play with mine today as I have the same one as you. and will post back later.
