Has any member used a car polish by the name of zaino and is it any good ? what do you use on your pride and joy. Most of what we call upmarket care products are American why ? but would you pay £4.000 to have your pride and joy waxed.

Meguirs for me, Halfrauds sell it, gold class is exceptional, especially their car shampoo.

I'll 2nd that. I use Meguirs shampoo and Wax. Although it sounds a little over the top, I also recommend using the wax applicator pad and polishing cloth. The combination of Meguirs products are excellent for the majority of car colours including black.

I like Meguiars as well, it last a long time, does not show water marks or finger prints.

Not a hoax; see www.swissol.com. Expensive wax polish, any comments on practical use.

I too like Maguiar's. Used to use Gold Class but prefer NXT Generation. Much easier to remove, leaves no "dust" and gives a brilliant shine.

I prefer the hard paste which is AUD$50 here (~GBP20.00), but it's not as easy to find as the liquid.

Thanks Guy's well ive took the plunge and ordered some Zaino car polish there is an agent in the uk. After searching on the net i found out apparantly that its not a wax and contains no silicone but it came out top in a shootout with zymol which is very expensive. Price for 8oz polish, shampoo,Gloss enhancer and a product that you mix in a small plastic tube a catalyst which enables you to apply several coates £71.75 including £4.95 shipping. Having used Mer,Top gloss.by Turtlewax.and the one that Aston martin recommends which i used on a Daimler sovereign but it started to remove the clearcote varnish to much cutter that was the last time i used that Mer just powders realy bad but have not tried Maguires that looks interesting being that a lot of you guy's use the same product.Any way the Zaino has just arrived i will need a clear weekend to do the job you can use it in direct sunlight or shade and i will let the forum know how i get on.

Looking at the review, this stuff scores 17/20 but for £68. Autoglym scores 16/20 for £7.49 - hard to justify for 1 point! Ok Swissol have a RR seal of approval but Autoglym are (or were) approved by Aston Martin (hand built and very expensive so what's the difference?).
Interesting that Mer wasn't included. Following recommendations, that's what I'm using.

Mer is great for bringing back the shine on non clear over base finishes as it is slightly abrasive. I keep seeing the Swiss Oil adverts in the Octane Magazine £200+ for a pack, not for me at that price.
I used to buy from the Autoglym van when it came to the fleet service department I was working next to. Larger quantities and much better prices than the shops. I have moved offices so don't see the van anymore. Keep hoping it will turn up like the ice cream van - stop me and buy one.

I have used Zaino for the last couple of years, it is great stuff.
The main thing is to go on www.zaino.com and print out the procedure for applying it.
To get the best results it will take you a fair while but the shine lasts ages.
Any questions give me a shout and I will try and answer them. :)

Well, after some deliberation, I've gone the other way. A real low tech solution. I spent yesterday going over it with a clay bar and today put a couple of coats of P21S Carnauba wax on. Silver always looks good anyway but maybe there's a small improvement. What do you think?

Looks good, very hard to photograph a silver car shine as i think they look best in a half light. So you can polish a black or dark color to a mirror, but the first bit of dust shows, and a silver one looks better dirty, if all that makes sense

Looks great, but not as shiny as my C320 in Tansanite blue that I have just cleaned and NXT waxed! Talk about mirror finishes!

Malcolm is right though, the first specs of dust or a bit of rain and it'll look dirty again.

it does. It's why I bought silver. Always looks good.
I'm going to have to stop fettling the car now. The wife is starting to get sympathetic looks from the neighbours!
Anyway, she goes into the dealer (the car not the wife) on Tuesday for the buzzing, and I imagine some muppet will 'wash' it for me and I'll have a nice streaky car for the rest of the week!
