Could be as it had 17" AMG spec wheels and the drive is a bit hard you feel every bump, not sure whether thats just the wheels and low profile continentals 245 40 rear 225 45 front.

486 is Sport suspension option. Could it be a typo / bad print quality?

after reading posts on forums and what car etc prior to buying aCLK320 coupe they stated handling was not brill but this one does handle corners very well the suspension does feel very stiff and firm so could be a sports upgrade

A friend has a CLK230 Komp with Sport pack and the handling is great, corners as on rails. Hence the Sport pack on my car :D

Sporty Sus'

I've a W208 '99 T 320CLK SPORT

I was just wondering if the suspension on that was different or harder than on the avant/eleg?

When eventually replacing the suspension is it worth a strut brace or lowering? Should I stick with merc parts or change?

Wife accused me of getting too used to sliding it round corners the other day!

My 1999 W208 230K Elegance Coupe was ordered with the "no cost" sport suspension setting. I have checked the price list used at the time and that is listed as code 488. My Service Booklet also notes that among the options fitted to my car is 488.

No typo then, 488 is defininately the no cost sport suspension option on an Elegance W208 CLK.
