Guy who works for me has got himself a Merc C220 saloon and asked me if it was OK through a car wash with the bonnet badge sticking up.

I've never taken mine in a car wash and would think it should be fine but can understand his reservations about it if it got tangled up.

Any one have a horror story on this?

I'll introduce him to the forum as well so another new member will be here soon

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
Tell him to buy a sponge, shampoo, chamois, towel, and some wax

Cheaper, better finish, easier to keep an eye on the bodywork, and much more satisfying.

I'm with you on that but its his choice and 'time = money' to some people, I think I'm paying him too much if he can afford a car-wash let alone a 2nd hand Merc'

I have put my 300CE through the car wash many times with no damage to bonnet badge - no promises though!
