Hi all,

I have a C280 (P reg) I have just taken the battary off to recharge it and now can not get it started again.

With the remote I can lock & Unlock the Cnt-locking but all I get is the GREEN led flashing it will not reset itself and go to the RED led.

I have a factory fitted alarm & immobilizer and I belived it;s the immobilizer thats NOT resetting.

I have tried with the key to the alarm turning it on and off, but no joy.

Can somone PLEASE give me instructions how to reset the system and start the car.

There are instructions in the manual how to reset it. You will get advice from members as to how to reset it. Sometimes after a lock out it takes a little time to come back to normal mode.

just a quicky, try to start the car, then try locking unlocking the car via the remote.

this is how I manage to get my CL to reset the alarm, my battery gets killed after about a week with the alarm on, if I disconnect the alarm and the reconnect I have to start the car with the imob on for it to react the the fob.
I have the lastest version on carsoft pro 1 on its way so I will see whats going on with my alarm.

Hello all,

And THANK YOU all for your advise so far, I have tried everything even what is side in the manual.
To recap- All I have is the one GREEN LED light flashing when I open ir close the C/locking or turn on the ignition.

HOW do I get past this point and reset it? As the immobilizer will not turn off.

:)

Part of the lock signal runs through the red LED in the mirror. It is possible your car has gone into "passive armed" mode when the battery was replaced & now needs a full lock & unlock signal before the car will start. I suspect you need a new mirror. See if you can borrow one from any Merc around 96/97 with the LEDs in the mirror, they all fit but easiest to remove would be another C class or an early 210 E class. Just pull them down.

Hi Thanks for that reply. I can not beleve that as strong and reliable that the MB's are made that somthing as simple as changing the cars battary will cause the mirror to need to be replaced.

Has anyone had this problem before and how did you fix it?

:)
