Hi
I wonder if some one can help me to find out what is wrong with my car. I live in Birmingham and am ready to bring my car to someone locally for help.

Every two three miles and the plugs go complete black then it wont start untill I clean the plugs again. I found petrol mixed into the engine oil once and changed oil. The mixture setting are ok. So what is the problem. Any help and advise is welcome. Car is 1987 190E Injection.
regards
Saj

are you sure?

are you sure ur mixture is fine? carbon on the plugs ussually indicates a rich mixture.

Thats the only really concrete thing i can say....other than that it would be possible for oil to be combusted somehow...i think that would cause blackness of the plugs? valve stem seals?

Sorry thats all ive got......any corrections out there go for it! im just a newbie hehe

you appear to have excess fuel being dumped into the cylinders, hence the blackened plugs-if your mixture settings are correct and you have the right plugs in there, then the following are the possibilities-if the car is fuel injected version

faulty cold start valve-is like a faulty choke on carburettor cars.

faulty injectors,

fuel distributor.

i would also check the sark plug leads, rotor and distributor cap for completeness.

if all else fails, then book your car with andy gayle in birmingham-i,m sure he would have the solutions to your problem :D

I agree with Sunil, if you're based in Birmingham then why not give Andy Gayle a try, if you do a search on this forum you'll see he's got many happy customers and good reports.
