Have you tried adding 1 part two stroke oil to 100 litres of fuel? I do that on my W116 and i know of others in Australia who do the same. It is easier than messing with the Solex.

I have a hard copy of the exploded diagram of the Solex 4A1. I can scan it and send it via email if that's any good.

Why is there a need for an upper cylinder lubricating kit? From what I have heard these engines go on for ever with the usual maintenance schedules observed.
