When I worked at a Ford dealership years ago I and my boss, who was a friend of mine where invited to a meeting at FMC. A friend of Tony’s also had a Ford dealership, Rex Hilton was his name. Rex had just bought himself a *******, if I remember correctly it was at the time £50,000, a lot of money in those days.Yes, really
And what's the story? You can't leave us hanging
Rex, exited about his new car was rang Tony and said as he was going to the meeting in the ******* would we like to go with him in his new pride and joy.
Well off we go all feeling like a million dollars until we get stuck in a traffic jam. Rex had got everything electrical going as he could and the bluddy thing cuts out. Flat battery !.
We are now walking down the line of cars asking if anybody has a set of jump leads they would sell to us. !
When we finally get some we reverse the ******* up close to the car behind us, the battery was in the back of the ******* and finally got us going again.
When we eventually get to FMC in Brentwood we are late and yes, there is nowhere to park because the car park is full. With that an irate Rex says fu*k it, I am going home.
When we all get home Rex writes to FMC and says ‘Next time you invite me to a meeting please ensure that there is a parking space for me ! LOL what a day
