Cat removal

I’ve developed a rattle from one of my secondary cats R230 SL500

Looking to get them removed and sleeved

Anyone done this and where

ideally looking for somewhere local to me in Kent to do this work

Just replace the cats with third party sports cats. There's no power to be gained by sleeving or removing them and you could introduce unwanted droning.

The exhaust guy I rang today actually offered to sleeve or fit sports cats

Have you had the work done and if so did it changed the exhaust tone as would not mind a tad more v8 burble

Mine had the secondary cats removed when I got it. I'm not a fan of how it sounds without them.

Has anyone got a recording of how their SL500 sounds with secondary cats removed please

Best to fit a straight through type resonator in place of the secondary cat. I had to do that with my ML270. Sounded horrid. Good now.

Illegal in this country.
You aren't allowed to remove or disable any part of the emissions system.

A lot of people remove the secondary CATs and replace them with an x-pipe, especially on SL's. The R230 SL's may already have a type of x-pipe as standard so straight through pipes would suffice in that case.
