Hi

I replaced my Cat with a non merc number. Unfortunately the place where the lambda sensor inserts into the cat is at right angles to cat pipe and not offset as a genuine cat would be. This has meant the probe has been fouled by the prop shaft and damaged. Has anyone experienced this before and are there any easy fixes for this one. I have had to replace the sensor.

Your thoughts (E320 W124 coupe)

I suggest the mount for the Llambda sensor has been welded in the wrong place?

Have a look at another one for your car and compare.

Why was the cat replaced to start with, they hardly go wrong on our generation of cars ?????????

Put the old cat back on ????????

Mines has done 157,000 perfect pass at last MOT. The lamda probe is a service item and should be changed every 100k.

Cat had a loose bit inside. Also it was rusted out on the bottom.
Any suggestions on the lambda probe? Don't want to go and have to take the cat out. Must be a simpler solution??!
