cd 220 tdi

hi everyone, a colleague at work is thinking of buying a cd 220 tdi 1999 - 2002 and paying around £3,000 to £5,000 for a nice one. he`s asked me to post a request for any tips you guys can give on what to look for on this model, and any problems he may come across in the future,

from the post i`ve read so far is its under powered is this right ?

its not the most powerful thing in the world but is a good robus lump, water in ESP control unit, air leaks on the plastic pipes on the fuel side, not a lot comes to mind really with the 202, not a bad car all round, hope your get some more feed back from owners, there the best source for info!!!!
