CD Changer CLK

Have just brought a 2001 CLK, the head unit was already in place, have been given a Merc 6 disc changer which sits in the boot, connected fibre optic cable and other, unit powers up no problem, when you press CD on head unit it shows 'No CD' why?? can someone point me in the right direction, bye the way I have put a CD in the changer and it's the right way up! so changer must be working ok, perhaps communication or set up error???

Provided you have the D2B cable properly inserted at both ends and the Wake-up power cable properly inserted then your unit should see it without any coding required.

Can you be sure there is power to the changer? If you try to eject the magazine does it come out? If so, there is power. If not, there is no power. Next you need to check the wake up signal is connected properly. This is one of the three wires in the power/wakeup cable set. Make sure that its all connected up properly on your C connector on the rear of the Audio 10 unit.
