Hi there, I have a MB Audio 10 Radio Casette with Bose Amplifier and speakers, I have just bought a second hand cd changer with the normal 9 pin connection,
the plug is in the rear of the head unit and the 9 pin connection to the changer is connected but I cannot get the cd changer to work,
the eject button will not eject the cartridge so I dont think power is getting to the changer, I have tried the wires and only one appears to be 12v live, is this correct ? and do I have to connect any other wire ? there is a very small plug with one maybe two wires loose behind the head unit should this be plugged in anywhere ? any help would be greatfully rec

the car is a 1999 ML 320

Cheers
Rob :(

If you only have one 12v wire the unit must rely on earthing for the other connection. Check if you have a good earth, if not then a wire taken from one of the mounting points or the case to the body work should do it. I am only guessing at this but I noticed mine [Audio 10 unit and 6 cd changer in boot] is mounted on a steel bracket attached to the body and earths the same way as the radio/head units.
