CD changer Device Unavailable

I have a SL 350 2008. When I try to use the CD changer it is showing Device Unavailable. I have cleaned it with the air line, still the same.
Has anybody any ideas???? Please.

That era of vehicle will use a MOST fibre optic ring. Basically it appears that the headunit has lost contact with the CD changer on the MOST ring. This can be a bad connection or bad device on the ring.

Where in the Loire Atlantique are you. I have diag kit and will be traveling through Le Mans -> Tour -> Poitiers on the A28 and A10 in April if that's any use.

Pre Covid we would have gone via Rennes and Nantes....

Just for you LostKiwi After one last look at the CD changer, thinking $%&^*(!" slammed the lid shut on the compartment, a little too hard.
Took the car out, low and behold the CD changer started to work. Not been a problem since, long may it continue. I hope...........

It's following on the 80s TV set tradition where a good whack on the cabinet always made them work!
