CD Changer/TV not working

Have just bought a Mercedes 2003 ML270 from a car dealer(not a main dealer) that has a 6 disc cd changer, but when I attempt to use it the main console is saying that there is no cd changer, but there is as it is in the boot of the car!!

Same for the TV unit, when I attempt to use it it says no tv!

Do I need to pay a visit to my local mercedes dealer?

Any advice/help appreciated.

For TV you need a TV tuner. This was never an option on the W163 ML.

If your CD changer isnt working it usually means that either the fibre optic connection is broken or has come out or the wakeup signal isnt getting through.

Check the connections on the underside of the CD changer. Is the light one inside/is there power to it?

Next pop the head unit out and check the connections in the back there too.
