mine's a double question, i have an slk230, do they all have the cd changer optic cables installed somewhere and,
my audio 10 cd player will only play new cds, is this normal?
My SLK is a 2002 on a 52 plate and it was not pre-wired.
As room is limited in the boot, I fitted my Cd changer in the net behind the passanger seat. You can then run the cables under the centre console without to much hassle.
Possible that the head unit won't run copy CD's.
I have an APS30 navigation unit and never used for anything else but navigation CD's (but it will read copies of that)
I've got a 99 SLK 230 with the Audio 10. Mine will play copied CDs - of sorts, it doesn't always read them very well (takes a long time to skip betweeen tracks and then will jump in part way through). Make sure the CD-R's that you use of are good quality, stick with the named brands (Sony, TDK, Verbatim, etc), you won't be able to read CD-RWs.
I'm interested to know about the changer wiring as well - what sort of price can you pick the multi changer up for?
The CD Changer cost £350 + VAT from MB Dealers
You can pick the MC3110 from Ebay for about £160 without knowing if it works or not.
I have a brand new one in the box (that I was going to fit in my wife's A-Class), but she says she never listen to anything while driving.
Send me a PM if you are interested.
cheers guy, mine will not play cd-r s of any kind, at the moment i have a third party unit in (JVC), plays well, but my wife is not happy with the gordy style.
Send me a mail on mavala.mavala@btinternet.com as I can't send you a Personnal message yet.
Must be because you are new to this forum and it takes a while before you're allowed to send and receive personnal messages
I'll remove this message once you've answered it
