Hi, i have tried searching for this but have not found anything! I bought a second hand cd changer, the MC3198, to be installed into my 2000 CLK, when the stereo shop tested it they could hear the cds spinning and the power was working. but the audio 10 cassette head unit states there are no cds in the changer although the cartridge was full! anyone else had this problem? the person who i bought the changer off said it definately was working in their E-class. any help would definately be appreciated thanks in advance!

Does MC3189 cd changer work with Audio10 (BE6021) ?

Hi,

I know this is late, but were you able to make your Audio 10 work with the MC3189 cd changer? I have bought the same cd changer and am having trouble ascertaining if they are compatible and what cable I need (I have not taken out the radio yet).

Thanks for your help.

You need to make sure that you have the fibre optic connected up properly and the power/wakeup cable also connected properly. Without the wake up signal the CD changer will not even appear to be present.

CD-Wechsler:

Vielen dank, bitonw. Could anyone please help with a part number for the optical (and electrical) cables to connect an Audio 10 CD from 2003, with this MC3189 cd changer? Lambs, which cable did you use, please? Did it work in the end? And since this one goes in the boot, has anyone seen instructions on where to run the cables? Thanks.

There are retro fit and dealer fit instruction in the MB WIS program, your dealer should be able to print you off a copy.

bitonw and television, thanks for your help. I'm not sure if my dealer will send me anything but will try. BTW, what is this WIS program? Is it a resource partially available on the web ;-))

WIS is MB service and repair info, pirate coppies are available on the web, but a pig to install and run.

Well, installed the MC 3010 in my car last Saturday but without success...

The Audio 30 APS is not showing the CDC on the display. Also the Eject buttom will not eject the caridge, only makes some noise, so it's trying.

At the moment I have contact with the seller about this.

Sorted the Changer. The cartridge was blocked, on of the CD holders was a bit out of the cartridge so it was blocking the Changer to eject the cartridge. So I opened the Changer (see picture) and pushed the CD holder back in the cartridge, turned the wheel and the cartridge came out. Problems solved.
