CD error codes

Hi, i have just joined after buying a 320 ML and i was wondering if anyone could help with a problem on the car cd autochanger. When the cd`s are installed the head unit was showing cd err1 and does this for all 6 cd`s installed. I had a read of the manual ,went back to the car,turned all cd`s round but still the head unit showed the same message. Apart from this the car has been fantastic, so much better than the grand Cherokee or isuzu i was looking at.
Could anyone help?

You need to check that the cassete is locating properly in the player, have a look inside the unit with the cassete removed and check for debris..also try holding the cassete in place and getting someone to operate the changer..

Thanks for the tip, i tried holding the cassete in place and someone operated the changer, it worked once but when i changed cd`s it started to show the same error codes as before even when holding down the cassete. I will keep persevering with it until it works.

are the cds copies? earlier mercedes cd changers/players did not take to copies very well, just a thought

I think Rabt its time to let an expert look at it, I had a similar problem with mine and i left it with the ICE experts, and they had to send it off to get it fixed..works a treat now

Please check you CD's are not "home made" as with self-adhesive labels all sorts of warning can and will flash up. Also, earlier models tended to dislike anythig other than genuine 1st Generation CD's.
