cd multi changer

i have just bought a 1997 p reg c 250td with no cd player or multi changer. it has a mercedes radio cassette. if i buy a multi changer, will it have to be with standard cables? or can i use optical ? or is the car not set up for optical because of the year? help! :confused:

You can buy a multi changer (not fibre optics on your car) there are always some on Ebay and a few dealers have them secondhand. you should find the cables I believe in the right hand side of boot. Do a search on the web.

It might be cheaper and easier to buy a new radio that plays mp3 CDs, you can fit 10 albums onto one CD that way. Some new radios also have memory card slots and USB sockets, which are great.
