Hi there, Can anyone advise what model number changer I would need for an Audio 10 head unit on an E200k (very late 2000) ?. Is this the model with the fibre optic cable and would this be pre wired and tied back in a cable loom somewhere ?
On a completely different note can anyone tell me the average cost for MB "A" & "B" services for this model ?
I've got loads more questions but a limited brain capacity for computing the answers so I'll take it slowly, slowly :D

Re the fibre optic cable, slip the radio out and if the lead is there it is bright Orange in colour. your car will be fibre optic.

Thanks television but I'm offshore just now so cannot do any detective work myself. I've been looking at multichangers on Ebay but don't want to bid on the wrong type

Firstly, I have one changer in stock ( MC3198 ) with the mounting plate which will fit your CLK and work with your head unit. You will need fibre optic cables as the CLK does not come pre-wired unless it has had a CD changer in the boot before. Running these cables is fiddly. You car of that age will be a CANBUS car so the head unit will be fibre optic.

Servicing costs will be £250 and £500 approximately.

hope that helps,

Thanks for that Alfie, however my car is the W210 (LATE DECEMBER 2000) so will that make a difference whether the cables are there or not ?

I never read your post properly first time - Do you have a shop/workshop that sells refurbished units ? And if so how much are they ?
I might be looking to buy one, depending on the result of my visit to the MB bodyshop regarding my W210 rust claim i.e if they fix under warranty then I'll have money

Its unlikely that the cables will be there but you might be lucky. The fibre cables are orange so you should be able to spot them fairly easily.

The bracket I have is for a CLK but the changer will work in any fibre optic D2B based car. I'll send you a PM with a price.
