Hi all

Still fairly new on here.

I just bought a 2002 E class Cdi estate. So far so good after initial teething.

Now:

It has a nice original radio cassette, all linked to the display, steering wheel etc.

There is a button on it for a CD, but no multichanger.

Question: I would like to fit one, but have no idea if I can buy any one? Or does it have to be MB?

And how easy is it to connect etc? Where do they usually fit? In the boot?

Look forward to your help, great forum this.

Hello,

Your biggest issue is going to be mounting and cabling up the CD changer assuming you managed to acquire one.

I would suggest you check the area in the boot from above the right rear wheel arch towards the light cluster. If you cannot find wires then I don't see there is any point pursuing the CD changer option.

For info my CLK has a bracket and fixing holes in the right rear, along with the data cables. I guess you need to have these present to stand any chance.

Perhaps you will need to replace the merc stereo with an just a in-dash CD/Mp3 player?

I have a similar post to yours, ie) what are the options if you CD changer fails. No responses as yet, so I guess there is not much knowledge on the forum.

Good luck,

Hello, the cd changer on your car is located under the head unit, and pops up and out when you push the chome button under the hazzard switch. retro fit is possible but not easy!!
