Every now and then on my CLK the word ALARM appears on the radio display and on the corresponding window on the dashboard. On turning the radio off and back on again it disappears. This happens when driving along with no problems with the alarm or central locking etc. This warning is not mentioned in either the car or radio handbook. It has only happened a few times in the last year, but has me puzzled. Any ideas???????

Hi,
In the Handbook it says:
"Public Alarm Message (PTY-31)"
In the event of a catastrophe, the station may broadcast and issue a warning message via RDS if RDS is "ON"; ALARM appears.
I don't know where you live, but it has never happened to me in Herefordshire.
