CD Workshop Manuals......Help!!!!

I bought 5 CD manuals on e-bay and I'm having a nightmare trying to install them on my PC

Has anybody else had the same grief???

And if you have maybe we can share the whole horrible experience!!!

Hiya,

I bought the 5cd set of WIS manuals and I have tried installing several times on a Win XP PC, but have had no glory getting the manuals to run in English. I can only get so far before the I reach a stage where I can't go any further(unless I start learning German)

I then installed the discs on a Win2000 system and again the installation would only let me go so far.But this time it just crashed out when it couldn't detect a server.

Do I need to be on a network for these discs to work or will they work on a standalone PC

Any help would be greatly appreciated

have a look at this link sounds like it may help, seems you need to setup your PC to run in win98 mode

The disc set I got says that it will install on Win 2000.

And in the readme instructions it does mention installing on XP.

I've been pretty thorough in following the install instructions, but I can't get further than a certain point

Very frustrating!!!!!

I suspect you bought a copy of the WIS system, and this is an huge program from MB which is designed to install in a dealership. Dealers pay thousands for this software, and I suspect you (and I, because I did the same) did not pay such sums! ;-) I have a contact who can probably talk you through it. PM me for his details.

Got myself a Mercedes Workshop DVD instead

Installed it and it ran perfectly

Oh joy!!!

Now I just have to get off my arse and fix the car!!

i have the same system - the guy that sold it to me gave very comprehensive instructions - inc that it has to be connected to the net for it to work.

when im next home ill dig them out if it helps.
