I have the following fault codes up and CEL light on. Cleared and all came back immediately. Suspect they are all linked. To me they indicate there may be a common grounding issue. Or am I barking up the wrong tree here? Car runs fine. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Dave

1186 y22/9 intake manifold tumble flap switchover. short circuit to ground p2009
1066 relay for airpump. short circuit to ground p2557
1070 air pump swuitchover valve. short circuit to ground p0414
0430 heating of component g3/5 left 02 sensor ofter twc (kat) short circuit to ground p 0057
0850 y58/1 purge control valve sort circuit to ground/switchover valve permanently open (Note: I have cleaned and checked purge valve. Clicks in with battery voltage has 3.5 volts constant feed hence permanently open),
1306 power steering pump pressure regulating valve has a short circuit to ground
0442 heating of component g3/4 right 02 sensor before twc (kat) short circuit to ground p0031
0446 " " g3/3 left " " " " " " p0051
0155 component y110 three disk thermostat valve has an open circuit in the wiring p0597
0426 heating of comp[nent g3/6 right 02 sensor after twc (kat) sort circuit to ground p0037

I'd check for blown fuses (they might help pinpoint issue); obvious wiring harness damage; the engine earth strap; water ingress sam units, under passenger carpets; ship off to indy if no joy.

is it running nicely, if its chugging and being generally recalcitrant something is probably wrong...

nearly all related to engine management... many don't look that surprising, wipe them out go for 10 min drive and test again
my tumble flap thing was a simple solenoid valve that got lazy, gave it a kick and some exercise and it has been happily switching the vac to the tumble flap actuator for 3 years - goes quicker when its working

Thanks for all replies. I was advised to check fuse in front SAM that supplies all these items. It had blown and blew again when replaced. So unplugged all items and reconnected one by one. Traced to faulty thermostat (strangely the wiring to the thermostat seemed fine). Thermo was somehow shorting to ground, New thermostat and all fine.

….her focus has a heater element in a £110 almost impossible to get at thermostat - it was made with the idea to run warmer and more efficiently, and if you rip it the heater turns on then stat opens up

it popped the car ran hot and in the end the oil pressure relive valve spring fell to bits... how difficult is it to work out at 9 years old they designed in a few features to take the engine out and sell a new car?

I'd never heard of a heated stat (57 plate car... ) of course to make sure it really goes bang, by 2009 BMW fitted a "designed to fail properly" electric water pump

I was going to say, the code definition on STAR is usually xxxx is short circuit to ground OR open circuit.
