Hi every one.

Can someone help with an annoying intermittant problem?

When I first go to my MB in the morning I unlock doors with keyfob and put gear on back seat.
Before I've finished the central locking locks itself again with rear door open.

Any ideas?
Only seems to happen when theres a heavy dew not when it rains or cold.
:confused

A quick check would be to observe the door locking buttons, to see if they all rise upon the 'unlock' signal. I suspect one isn't rising, and once the 'unlock' is done, the system senses one of the buttons down and thinks this is a 'lock' signal. Because its a vacuum system, its much slower than an electrical central locking system, hence the opportunity to gain access to the rear.

If this is the case, then take off the suspect door's card (plenty of advice on this forum - using the search feature should find you it) and closely examine the locking mechanism. Lubricating it, for example with white grease, wouldn't hurt either. You'll be looking for missing clips, improper fitting or misalignment. It could be useful to compare one side with the other (good) side. Another suspect, would be damage to the doorskin or frame, eg by a dent or other.

Not sure about your specific model, but many cars with remote locking will automatically lock themselves if a door has not been opened within 30 seconds or so of pushing the unlock button, the assumption being that it was pushed accidentally.
Is the appropriate pin switch on the door working, so that the car knows the door has opened? This is most likely the same switch that turns the interior light on.
