Hi I new to the forum so forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere else
I’ve just bought my wife a 1998 Slk and the central locking doesn’t work I’ve changed the password pump which still hasn’t done anything I’ve looked for the fuse which I believe is number 23 but I don’t have a fuse number 23 I’ve check the fuses on the side panel by drivers side with no joy, the pump doesn’t seem to be making any noise when trying to lock or open doors so am thinking it must be a fault with no power going to it ?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers Fred

Welcome from a fellow SLK owner. Sorry can't help with the C/L. These R170 models (original shape) are lovely cars and very much underrated in my view.

Hi I’ve managed to solve the power issue it was the boot light, one of the wires wasn’t connected so light wasn’t working now there’s power and can hear the pump working, the doors are still not opening but you can see the buttons trying to pop up just wondering if there could be a broken pipe ? Not sure how easy it is to replace all the pipes or does anyone know of any other issue it could be

Sounds like an air leak to me. Simplest way to fix is to find the leak and sleeve the tube in PVC tubing making sure it's tight and the two ends of the cut butt together.
