Central Locking on a 92 300CE-24V

Hi,

Hoping someone here might be able to help me. The central locking on my coupe has become a little eccentric.

I can only centrally lock/unlock the car from the boot.

If I operate the driver's side lock it only works for the driver's side door.

Activating/deactivating the alarm has no effect on any of the locks.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Try a search on 'central locking' on this forum. There have been several earlier postings on problems with vacuum-operated locking. If these don't solve your problems, let us know.

Hi

The quickest DIY trick is to disconnect the central locking pump completely and leave for 10mins and then reconnect. If you are lucky it may work. If it does ok. If it goes again its probably the pump.

I had a similar problem on my 230CE. I found that the tubes going into the pump itself wewe not in tightly. I pushed them back in firmly and all was well again.

chek the electric connection on the lock (3 pinns)They can be in bad condition worn out by oxid and stuff.I had a simular problem on my 230e
