central locking prob

i have a C180 class year 94

it has a spyball alarm when you lock the car from key phob , it locks and alarms it self but when you go to open it the alarm goes off but the doors (all of them )do not open , you have to open with the key then they all open .

can any one help this is my second last job then she will be running perfect

Malcolm will be able to tell you more, but I believe the alarm is wired to the vacuum pump (under the rear seat?) .
If as you say, the central locking is working fine, then I'd suspect an issue with the alarm/locking interface and it's simply not telling the pump to open the doors.

the alarm speaker which is under the bonnet was had some water in it i dryed it out and since then it wont work i might have a look again thanks

the pump is in the boot right hand side she is an early model w202 c class

Hi,
Is your remote locking key a Mercedes one? As these vehicles came with remote c/locking as standard from the factory and were fitted with a Scorpion Alarm, which can be troublesome. The Scorpion Alarm was intergrated into the standard fit remote locking. Has this alarm system ever worked correctly since you have owned the car?
Have you still got red & green L.E.D.'s in the rear view mirror? and possibly in the door or boot?
Does your key look like the one in this post?

THE KEY HAS NO BHOB ITS A SEPERATE UNIT

Hi,
If the central locking works with the key in the locks, this eliminates the car wiring/central locking. If there are no cables, broken dirty connections, dodgy/blown fuses in the alarm wiring I think you have a duff alarm control box.
If i remember correctly the control box/siren is the same thing on spyball alarm. Well it was on my M5.
Inspect the control box/siren the fault maybe obvious, possibly dry joint etc.
You use to be able to buy reconditioned ones or Spyball would repair yours for approx. £100 but this was a good few years ago now.
Try googling for a Spyball website, they still might offer the service or even trying on e-bay for a new alarm and just utilise the siren/control box.
