Central Locking Problem

Hi, recently, the central locking on my Mercedes C220 CDI has started acting up. It has an 03 plate.

All the locks work except the one on the front passenger side. The alarm initialises because if you open the door, it sounds.

Sometimes, if i repeatedly lock the car using the fob, the stick will go down but otherwise, and usually, will always stay up, therefore keeping the door open.

Can anyone point out to me where to look because i have never had this problem before, including on my Mercedes C180.

Regards,

Beta

Hi beta and welcome, your car will be a 203 and there have been problems on some of the locking motors where a spring breaks

Thanks for the reply.

So this spring should be located in the passenger door and will probably be bend or broken.

Ill have a look at see what needs doing :)

Thanks again!

Dear Beta

I have the same problem with my driver's door. Worse still, because the lock does not work I've lost control of my windows, etc.

Did you manage to repair your problem? Can you offer any advice? I'm sick of the problems with these Mercs and I'm trying to keep costs down.

Many thanks & kind regards

Roy

My n/s/f door lock was playing up on my C180 komp the door would only lock as and when it felt like but always worked when I put on the dead lock.

On investigation I found that the sensor that tells the door to lock had an intermittent failure.

I managed to sauce one from a breaker for a fraction of the cost from MB and it took me 45 minuets to fit.
