Central Locking S Class 2001

Hi All
An odd problem, this morning my central locking stopped working, the alarm function operates so I can manually enter the car and drive it, but the boot, petrol cap and doors will not function from the key at all.

Does anyone have any advise of where to start looking.

first off locate the fuse for this circuit and pull it out and a) check it and b) repalce it - removal and replace often re-sets the vacuum pump on (older) S class's and many others.

check pump for leaks? its in the boot somewhere... does the auto door shut feature still work?
