central locking system 190E

[plastic clog]

New to the delights of 190E, I have a 1987 190E automatic and relatively happy for the price, but the central locking has packed up, surely the solenoids on each door won't have failed, so any help please. Also, is the securing pin for the petrol tank associated to this problem.

alll mercs ahve vacuum controlled c/l - controlled by a pump under the rear seats...

door for the petrol is also locked with this system.

often a fuse pulled out will re-set the pump.
check when you get it working again that all the doors lock - if one doesnt, then its a leak which causes the pump to time out then shut down...

also use a vacuum pump thing (mityvac in the states) to check each of the lines for a leak...
