Anybody know how to connect the central locking of a 126 to an after market alarm. The alarm I got is supposed to fir all central locking systems via 3 wires but I cant get it to work.
Pump beside spare wheel, 2 plugs, one circular with 3 wires (green/ yellow/blue, ...green to pass door, blue to drivers, yellow to boot locks.
ok so far.
pick a wire , any wire, lets say green, if the green wire is earthed the car locks, if it is fed+ it opens. What the alarm has to do is firstly break the circuit to the lock, and either feed or earth the (green) wire going to the pump.
The alarm must break the circuit between lock and pump while it is locking, or unlocking as if it doesnt then as the key is in its lock mode (feed to pump) and the alarm tries to unlock the car (earth to pump) the fuse will blow.
Have a look at the wiring diagram for the alarm the three wires coming for the central door locking 1 wire will go to earth or power the other two connects to blue/yellow or green all you have to do is cut one of these wires put one wire to one end of the wire you cut and the other wire from alarm to the other end. That is providing your alarm system has a central locking interface built in. If not the three wires will connect to the central locking interface what make of alarm is it.
I figured out how to do it. The instructions for the 3 wires for the alarm said that one wire was "12v + for central locking module" What it SHOULD have said was "TO 12v + etc etc"
The alarm is one I got from ebay. £25.99.. Plus £5.00 postage.
Has remote c/l, shock sensor, starter-kill relay, anti-hijack, panic, self arm, last door locking, . Complete with 2 remotes.
When I got the car it had an alarm but no remotes. It was going to cost me £30 to get new remotes for it.
