two questions

what settings to the heater controls /vents will makethe compartment coldest?

What is the tray on top? the official spec for my car refers to it having the centre storage with tray I'mguessing this is like a document holder that sits on top and possibly its no longer there because previuos owner wanted to keep it or perhaps it was nicked? Can I replace it and if so can I get the lid seperately?

Air is taken from that sent to the rear air vents.

I just leave mine on Auto and it does the rest. Don't forget the air vent inside though, you'll need to open that. An excellent way of keeping your chocolate from melting.

I've had 2 W210s and neither have had a document tray in the centre arm rest cubby.

I think there was an option

of having a phone fitted in the lid somehow, but ours didn't have that either. Ditto on the chocolate or kids drinks in the centre bin. Just remember to switch the vent off in winter!

Guys at MB say it was for phone and in leather it costs £250. even in leathercloth the standard top is £90. just the lid

Apparently the tray holds the phone and you press one of the buttons on the lid to access this the other button opens the cooler compartment and at the same time the phone compartment swings up with the lid - clever but £250?

Thanks for the air vent info - it doesn't give details in the handbook!
