I have a right hand drive vehicle that does not have a Certificate of Conformity, what should I do?

You should contact the manufacturer to see if it is possible to obtain a European Certificate of Conformity (CoC), or, depending on the age and vehicle category, a PMAC number or TAC approval certificate.
o
If you are unable to obtain either of these documents, please contact VOSA and ask about the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) scheme. Enquiries about SVA can be made on the following number: 0870 60 60 440
o
If you are able to obtain a TAC certificate or duplicate CoC - and the vehicle is full UK specification (this will be confirmed on the CoC), check with DVLA that they can accept the document.
o
If you receive a PMAC number, please phone VCA on 0117 952 4191 to discuss the paperwork requirements and payment required to obtain a duplicate sub-mac certificate (follow this link to download a Duplicate Submac application form)

c of c for import to france

Hi dandpl,
I have bought a SL320 in the UK and imported it to France,
There are several steps to obtaining your french carte d 'gris.
The headlights must be changed,
Because of the age of your car (I believe it to be 1988) it was manufactured before the date of a C of C, but after changing the lights you can take your car to a Mercedes garage with all your documentaion, they will assess it, and supply a letter stating that the vehicle "conforme a la legislation Francaise ".
You then can take it to your local "Control Technique centre" (UK MOT)
it will cost 55 Euros, and providing it is all in good order will be valid for two years.
Should there be anything to repair or replace you have two months to return
without a retest charge.
When you have your CT certificate you must apply for your carte d'gris within
six months.
If I can supply any other info please contact me, my e mail addres is
